For students with special needs, this bill allows their parents to choose from a wider range of options about where they receive their child’s public education.
Montana Family Foundation Comments
Every child is different. When it comes to education, there’s no such thing as a one-size fits all solution. That’s especially true when we’re talking about kids with special needs, like being cognitively delayed, having a disability, or having a parent who died during military service.
This bill lets parents make broader choices about how their child with special needs will receive his or her education. It lets parents place their child in the school where he or she will find a perfect educational fit.
This bill was tabled by the House Education Committee.
